About It Could Be U
It Could Be U is a partnership between the Media Communications Council, the Texas Diversity Council (TXDC) and the University of Texas Division of Diversity and Community Engagement to provide intensive academic mentoring and college readiness services for youth ages 13 – 20.
The year long program allows students to explore fields of interest and then, working with their parents, UT graduate students and professional members of the TXDC within those fields, develop an educational plan and portfolio.
The program combines years of proven strategies developed through the MCC’s youth outreach program Media Xperiments and the University of Texas Intellectual Entrepreneurship program to provide an innovative and cost effective path to increasing student engagement and achievement.
